On-Line registration is... On Line! - It's finally here. The Camp Dixie website has been updated, and it is now possible to register for summer camp online. To keep costs minimal, it's a quick and easy three step process (just think Trinity- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and then three sounds just perfect.) Camp Dixie website updated - It's always fun to tell you about an updated web site, on that web site. So anyway, if you've ever been to the Camp Dixie website before you will notice that it has changed. If nothing else you noticed that the top banner went from red to blue right? We've also added some new sections (Facility Rental, Youth Leadership Team, and Adoration) streamlined some other sections (Summer Staff and Summer Camp) and have pretty much updated everything else. Send us an email if you find any dead links or other errors of that type.

Summer 2007 newsletter available - The Summer 2007 newsletter (which was sent out just before summer turned to fall... whew!) has been sent to the Camp Dixie mailing list. Camp Dixie adds new year-round program: Adoration - On January 13, 2008, Camp Dixie will be starting a new program aimed at Junior/Senior high youth and youth groups. The event, named Adoration, will start at 4:00 in the afternoon with a large group game and fellowship time, followed by a meal, and a praise time at the Camp Dixie outdoor chapel. This event will be a year-round event that occurs once a month. Hopefully this event will give participants an opportunity to spend some time with other Christian teens in a fun, faith filled environment. Retreat house available at Camp Dixie - Camp Dixie has recently made the small house on camp property (between the Director's House and the camp building on Josephine Drive, available for weekly rentals. The house is fully furnished for almost everything you will need for a fun week in the Alabama sun. It is a two bedroom, two bath house, with a large living room area, and a dining room and kitchen. The house has a refrigerator, oven/stove, and microwave for those late night popcorn cravings. The house has beds for 7 people, and will be available for rent for $400 per-week. Check in is at 3:00 on Friday afternoon, and check out is the next Friday morning at 10:00. Summer Staff takes over Orlando, LCMS National Youth Gathering - Immediately after summer camp ended, many of the summer camp staff members traveled from Camp Dixie to Orlando, Florida to take part in the LCMS National Youth Gathering. The staff was a part of the National Lutheran Outdoors Ministry Association (NLOMA) booth at the gathering. While they were there, they talked with approximately 10,000 participants about outdoors ministry and the possibility of working at a summer camp when they are older. Response from the participants was very positive, and it was a great way to talk to more people about outdoors ministry. Summer Camp 2007 a great success! - It seems like just a few days ago that summer camp started, and it is already "in the books" as they say. Summer Camp 2007 was a wonderful experience for both the campers and the staff. This summer adding together our onsite and summer Day Camp programs, we were able to reach more than double the number of campers compared to last summer.  We also had a great staff of summer counselors, they all received high marks from their campers! We are already planning for summer 2008, so check back soon for more information.
